africa - waterholes - the concept

From the 20th to the 21st of February 1998 Ekkeland Goetze visited the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The SOIL for these TERRAGRAPHICS comes from 12 different waterholes which were chosen from 12 different geological areas of the Park.

With the permission of Ian Whyte, the senior scientist of the Department of Conservation, EG was allowed to leave his car for a maximum distance of 15 meters.

Except for the first and the last excavating sites there were always animals nearby which didn?t show any interest in his activities.

In the dry period of winter the waterholes guarantee the survival of the animals.
